The\u00a0Lovatnet\u00a0<\/strong>is a beautiful lake with a long, tragic history. A little past\u00a0Loen<\/strong>, in the\u00a0area of\u00a0Stryn\u00a0<\/strong>in\u00a0Sogn og Fjordane<\/strong>, you can still tell from the surroundings what distasters took place in this gorgeous valley more than a century ago.<\/p>

The pearly green lake contains mostly melt water that finds it’s way down from the\u00a0Jostedalsbreen\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0Tindefjellbreen<\/strong>\u00a0to the\u00a0Lodalen\u00a0<\/strong>valley. From the Lovatnet on the water flows through the Loelva river all the way to the Nordfjorden.\u00a0Because of the sky high mountain tops surrounding the lake, the bright water in the fjord and lake and greener than green grass along the waters, the Lovatnet is almost too pretty to be true. Tourists are very fond of this place and really love to camp along the shores of this lake. And I don’t blame them!<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

How to get to the Lovatnet?<\/h3>

When coming from the north, navigate to Stryn. From there you can navigate further on to Loen and from there you’ll be at the Lovatnet within 10 minutes.\u00a0<\/p>

When coming from the south, navigate to Stryn as well. About 10 minutes before arriving at your destination, you will end up in Loen! From there it’s a 10 minute drive to the Lovatnet. Don’t forget to stop the car every now and then to soak it all in. And don’t forget your camera, because the Innvikfjorden really is something else.\u00a0<\/p>

In Loen you will see signs for Lodalen and road 14 – Kjenndalsbreen, you can follow them all the way up to the Lovatnet lake.\u00a0<\/p>

Make sure you bring cash when you plan on driving these routes! You have to pay toll in a very old fashioned way by putting money in an envelope and writing your number plate on there.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
