A while ago, Hydro Flask gave me a Standard Mouth 0.6L insulated bottle in the color Watermelon! I’ve been using the bottle for mini adventures for a while now, but during my last trip I really put the Hydro Flask through its paces. For three weeks, I climbed mountains with it. In 8 and in 34 degrees. This is what I think of it.
Hydro Flask insulated bottle 0.6L
Hydro Flask uses a special TempShield™ technology. It prevents condensation and keeps cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot. The bottles are made of stainless steel, are BPA- and phthalate-free and don’t give off any weird smell or taste.
The Standard Mouth 0.6L holds 621 milliliters, weighs 320 grams and is 22 centimeters tall. It fits perfectly in car cup holders, the side pockets of backpacks and most shoulder bags. The dishwasher isn’t the best friend of Hydro Flask products, but luckily they’re easy to clean.
Made for adventure
Hydro Flask products are easy to recognize by their eye-catching colors and special powder coating. This coating gives grip, is sweat-free and can take a beating. I’ve already dropped my bottle onto a rock a few times, but you can’t see a thing! Other insulated bottles often look battered after just one little adventure outdoors. (Could that be me?)
Piping hot and ice cold
The very best thing about the Hydro Flask 21 oz Standard Mouth, I think, is that it’s simply very good at what it’s supposed to do. Hot tea stays hot until you’re standing on top of that one mountain peak, and ice-cold apple juice stays cold until you’re back in civilization after 10 hours of hiking. On top of that, I think the design (and the colors they come in) is really cool, and the little handle on the cap is super handy for grabbing the bottle out of your bag while hiking. By the way, you can swap the cap for a ‘sport cap’ with a spout. Nice for when you’re working out, for example!
Final verdict
This Hydro Flask insulated bottle is my new partner in crime. It comes along on all my adventures in Norway, and secretly I even use it at home on the couch or when I have to pop into town on a hot day. The biggest plus, for me, is that it’s completely leak-proof. You can swing it upside down over your head and not a drop escapes. So now I never have to mop coffee out of my bag again.
In the Netherlands, where I live, the Hydro Flask Standard Mouth 0.6L is available from Bever.nl, among others, for €37.95
