In the heart of beautiful Tromsø, right in the middle of busy city life, lies a hidden source of relaxation: the Pust sauna. This beautifully lit eye-catcher in the harbor isn’t just a place to unwind, it also offers an enchanting view over the landscape of northern Norway.
Pust sauna concepts
The Pust saunas are part of an accessible sauna concept and can be found in several places in Norway. Besides Tromsø, Kadettangen, Sortland and Bodø also have an idyllic Pust sauna. The modern, minimalist design with large windows means you can relax completely while enjoying the natural beauty around you. And that just happens to be the way to my heart!

How do you get to the Pust sauna in Tromsø?
Honestly? The first time, we walked right past it. But luckily the sauna stands out with its beautiful lighting! So we soon found the stairs down – opposite the Clarion Collection Aurora hotel – toward the moorings in the harbor. At the end of the moorings, you’ll soon see the lights of Pust appear.

Visiting Pust
The sauna is very small-scale and unstaffed. There’s room for a maximum of twelve people at a time. So you do have to book in advance through the Pust website.
You have four options here:
- 1-hour sauna visit for 300NOK per person;
- 2-hour sauna visit for 450NOK per person;
- Rent the whole sauna for one hour for 3600NOK;
- Rent the whole sauna for two hours for 4000NOK.
After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation by email and, on the day itself, a code to open the door. Don’t forget to bring your own swimwear, a towel and, if you like, flip-flops!
On either side of the sauna there are changing rooms (men on the left and women on the right) with lockers for your things. There’s also a (cold) shower. Because it drains into the sea, you’re kindly asked not to use shampoo or soap in this shower.

Relaxation in the heart of Tromsø
For us, our visit to Pust was an experience we wouldn’t have wanted to miss. Unwinding completely in a sauna while it’s really, really cold outside has something special about it. On top of that, a sauna visit is of course very good for your circulation, digestion and your body’s immune response. A win-win, then.

A dip in the Norwegian Sea
If you’re a daredevil, you can take a dip in the ice-cold seawater right outside the sauna. What’s that good for? A dip in cold water makes your body produce the happiness hormone endorphin and helps train your resistance and circulation. It also prevents headaches and shortness of breath caused by an overheated body.
Afterward, you’ll of course want to step back into the sauna for a bit. I have to admit, it wasn’t even thát cold. And thanks to the beautiful lighting, the water actually looked really inviting.

Lingering at Pust Kafé Tromsø
Would you like to linger a little longer in a cozy café after your sauna visit? With your ticket you get a discount at the Pust café, a five-minute walk from the sauna. Here you can enjoy good coffee, brunch, natural wine and even yoga sessions.
Our visit to Pust sauna in Tromsø was sponsored. That means I received the visit in exchange for this article. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t write honest blogs. My experiences are always 100% transparent and sincere.
